چکیده

The p75 neurotrophin receptor has been implicated in multiple biological and pathological processes. While significant advances have recently been made in understanding the physiologic role of p75, many details and aspects remain to be determined. This is in part because the two existing knockout mouse models (Exons 3 or 4 deleted, respectively), both display features that defy definitive conclusions. Here we describe the generation of mice that carry a conditional p75 (p75) allele made by flanking Exons 4–6, which encode the transmembrane and all cytoplasmic domains, by loxP sites. To validate this novel conditional allele, both neural crest-specific p75/Wnt1Cre mutants and conventional p75 null mutants were generated. Both mutants displayed abnormal hind limb reflexes, implying that loss of p75 in neural crestderived cells causes a peripheral neuropathy similar to that seen in conventional p75 mutants. This novel conditional p75 allele will offer new opportunities to investigate the role of p75 in specific tissues and cells. genesis 49:862–869, 2011. VC 2011 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.

Blockade of p75 Neurotrophin Receptor Reverses Irritability and Anxiety-Related Behaviors in a Rat Model of Status Epilepticus

Background: Many recent epidemiological studies have shown that epileptic patients are more likely suffer from depression, anxiety, and irritability. However, the cellular mechanisms of epilepsy-induced psychotic behaviors are not fully elucidated. Neurotrophin receptors have been suggested to be involved in epilepsy and also in psychiatric disorders. Up-regulation of p75NTR expression and acti...

The Effect of Resistance Training Along with Royal Jelly Supplementation on Expression of Nerve Growth Factor and Tyrosine Kinase A Receptor in the Hippocampal Tissue of Alzheimer's Rats

Introduction: Current study aimed to investigate the effects of resistance training (RT) along with royal jelly (RJ) supplementation on hippocampal expression of nerve growth factor (proNGF) and p75 receptor in a rat’s model of Alzheimer's disease.  Method: 42 male Sprague-Dawley rats were treated with Trimethyltin chloride (8 mg/kg). Then, the rats were randomly divided into seven equal group...

The zinc finger protein NRIF interacts with the neurotrophin receptor p75(NTR) and participates in programmed cell death.

NRIF (neurotrophin receptor interacting factor) is a ubiquitously expressed zinc finger protein of the Krüppel family which interacts with the neurotrophin receptor p75(NTR). The interaction was first detected in yeast and then biochemically confirmed using recombinant GST-NRIF fusions and p75(NTR) expressed by eukaryotic cells. Transgenic mice carrying a deletion in the exon encoding the p75(N...

اثر نوروپروتکتیوی استیل ال‌کارنیتین، پس از ضایعه فشار مکانیکی طناب نخاعی موش صحرایی بالغ

Background and Objective: Despite current efforts for treating the spinal cord injury (SCI), cell therapy and pharmacological methods have a great curing potential in this field. In this study, application of acetyl L carnitine as one of the possible pharmacologic approaches in SCI treatment was investigated. The effect of this material in adult rats suffering from spinal cord compression was e...

Beneficial Effects of Sulforaphane Treatment in Alzheimer's Disease May Be Mediated through Reduced HDAC1/3 and Increased P75NTR Expression

Alzheimer's disease is an irreversible, progressive neurodegenerative disorder. The accumulation of Aβ in the brain is thought to play a causative role in the development of cognitive dysfunction in Alzheimer's disease. The p75 neurotrophin receptor is of great importance to protect against the Aβ burden and its expression is regulated by histone acetylation. This study investigated whether the...
